This island belongs to an archipelago of the Las Guaitecas commune that borders the Quellón commune, Aysén Province.

In the Guaitecas, we can find a wide variety of flora and fauna. Many species that have accompanied the history of this commune, such as the Guaitecas cypress, sea lions, dolphins, whales and birds in general.
The Gulf of Corcovado, gateway to the Guaitecas archipelago, is recognized as an important feeding area for various species of cetaceans, including the most important blue whales, the Austral whales, and the bottlenose or Torsion dolphin.
In the interior of this island, different endemic trees of the area can be identified, such as Coihues; Ñirres, Lengas, Lumas and Tepus, as well as Mañios and Cipreses de las Guaitecas.
The closest airport of this island is Melinka, 20 minutes away by boat.
The Island does not have any construction and has been used for recreational purposes and for cattle grazing.
